A dancer from Bridgeport is honoring her ancestry while performing for the Brooklynettes, the Brooklyn Nets dance team.
Celine 'Boom' Edmondson began dance lessons when she was 12 years old.
"I also started very late. I started in an after-school program at St. Augustine's, which is now Cathedral Academy in Bridgeport," said Edmondson, who is the assistant coach and choreographer for the Brooklynettes.
Her passion grew from there, and her talents took her to new heights.
Edmondson just wrapped her eighth season as a Brooklynette.
"Being able to fuse both of my loves for basketball and dance again, is a phenomenal opportunity," she said.
Her resume spans countless dance numbers: from dancing on TV and movie screens, to performing on stage with big name artists. Her latest appearance is on Netflix's "Dance 100," where she and seven other choreographers compete in London for $100,000 and are judged by 100 dancers.
"The experience is one that I will never forget, it's just a blessing like I said to go overseas meet new dancers and do what I love," said Edmondson.

The 27-year-old says she feels it is important to stay true to herself and her culture.
"I just felt a strong sense of responsibility to stay authentic to my cultures and to myself and it's just awesome to be able to represent both," Edmondson said. "Being Jamaican and Laotian you grow up super disciplined…and that's what got me here today."
