A Bridgeport doctor is urging people to get medical help if they've suffered a medical injury due to the snow or shoveling.
Dr. Steven Valassis, of St. Vincent's Medical Center, says one of the most common injuries related to snow is chest pain.
He says it's important to go to the hospital when that happens, especially if you've experienced slips and falls. Heart attacks and strokes can also happen while shoveling snow.
Valassis says hospital emergency departments across the country are seeing a drop in visits because people are worried about COVID-19.
Doctors say if you experience squeezing chest pain from shoveling snow, you should stop immediately and get to the hospital.
