Tarik Francis, 29, showed little emotion as he sat listening during the second day of his double murder trial in Bridgeport Superior Court Wednesday. If convicted, Francis could face a term of life in prison without the opportunity to ever be free again. Francis is charged in connection with the murders of his girlfriend, 19-year-old Candace Goodwin, and Austin Burgher, a close friend of his father's. The victims were fatally shot in a house on Platt Street in the North End of Bridgeport in 2021. The jury heard testimony from a police detective and a forensic pathologist; and they saw graphic crime scene video. The trial is expected to continue into early next week.
