A Bridgeport family called on state prison officials Sunday to release their loved ones early due to the pandemic.
The family says they have three close relatives incarcerated at different prisons across the state, and their lives are in danger due to various health conditions.
They say one of their loved ones has COVID-19 and cannot recuperate properly in a prison setting.
The family is calling on Gov. Ned Lamont for help.
The ACLU of Connecticut has filed a lawsuit to force the state to reduce the number of people in state prisons and jails.
