10ds agoThe Bridgeport Fire Department is looking for residents interested in giving back to their community.
The department is currently recruiting, hoping to add 40 to 60 new firefighters to its ranks.
"Our slogan is, 'Make the switch to the Bridgeport Fire Department'," said Fire Chief Lance Edwards. "We are hoping to find at least 40 to 60 individuals who are willing to step up and take on this challenge."
The department offers a starting salary of $60,000, with opportunities for overtime, health insurance and a pension plan.
Applications will open in about three weeks.
