More than 30 people that lived at 563 Stillman Street in Bridgeport have been trying to put their lives back together after a fire destroyed their home June 30.
Many of the fire victims lost everything. Residents said the Red Cross put many of them up in a hotel in Stratford temporarily, but now they have nowhere to go.
?The way I feel there's nobody trying to help us and all the agencies out there, they're not helping us,? Barbara Harden said.
Harden and neighbor Isabel Burgos said they have been crowding in temporarily with family while they wait for something to come through. Despite their current situation, they say they are fortunate no one was injured in the fire.
Firefighters are investigating a cause, but they suspect the fire started when a child was playing with matches or firecrackers.
The executive director of Bridgeport's Housing Authority said their lists for public housing are extremely long and individuals cannot be moved up regardless of circumstance.
