A young girl in Bridgeport received a grant Saturday to help pay for her medical bills.
The family of 7-year-old Cintia Balog, who has muscular dystrophy, says they have not been able to get medical care because their daughter does not have a green card.
Balog and her family were at Bridgeport City Hall Saturday to receive a $10,000 check from the non-profit The Needs Clearinghouse, which has also helped her get care from a Nobel prize-nominated doctor.
As News 12 reported, Balog's community came together last month to raise the $10,000 for her medical bills.
The family also thanked the Building Hope Foundation for helping with Cintia's case.
