Bridgeport health equity nonprofit awarded formal affiliation with United Nations

A Bridgeport nonprofit that promotes health equity is now working with the United Nations.
Dr. Dana Wade, CEO of Monitor My Health, tells News 12 the organization has been awarded a formal affiliation with the United Nations Department of Global Communication.
Its mission is to build awareness worldwide about the U.N.'s role in reducing chronic diseases among vulnerable populations
"We have a voice at the United Nations, we have a platform where we can share the work we are doing in the community," Wade says.
Wade says Monitor My Health is one of 13 non-government organizations to achieve this recognition.
