Bridgeport Hospital doctors say COVID-19 hospitalizations have gone up from 12 to around 30 in just two weeks, and most patients are unvaccinated.
However, doctors say regardless of those vaccinated or not, the delta variant is spreading and it's important to boost up immunity.
Over at Saint Vincent's Medical Center, infectious disease specialist Jo-Anne Passalacqua says a third dose of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine would likely be comprised of the same formula as the first and second doses.
Should a third dose be approved for everyone 12 and up in the coming weeks, the rollout may be the same as the first time around.
Health care workers and nursing home residents would be among the first Americans to receive it.
