Police say a Bridgeport man is facing DWI charges tonight after he allegedly drove his car off the road and into a vacant house.
The incident happened at around 1:30 a.m. when the car went off Pearl Harbor Place, became airborne and ended up crashing into the house, according to investigators.
Police have identified the driver as 30-year-old Corey Edmonds, who is also accused of taking off on foot after the incident. Authorities eventually caught up with Edmonds with the help of a canine unit.
Officials say Edmonds had complained of pain in his wrist and was taken to Bridgeport Hospital with minor injuries. He was released on a $5,000 bond.
