A Bridgeport man was arraigned on second-degree assault charges today after allegedly punching a Stamford man and leaving him in critical condition. Police say 31-year-old Kevin Ruffin punched a man Saturday night in Scalzi Park. They say the 25-year-old victim, hit after a basketball game, was thrown to the pavement and suffered bleeding on the brain and a broken jaw. Authorities say the victim is in Stamford Hospital. Ruffin's bond was lowered to $5,000 today. Authorities say he has apologized for the incident.
