Bridgeport man pleads guilty in Fairfield Shell station armed robbery

According to court documents, 49-year-old Torik Baldwin entered the station and approached the register pretending to buy candy before pulling out a handgun and pointing it at the cashier.

A Bridgeport man has pleaded guilty to his role in a 2021 armed robbery at a Shell gas station in Fairfield.

According to court documents, 49-year-old Torik Baldwin entered the station and approached the register pretending to buy candy before pulling out a handgun and pointing it at the cashier.

Prosecutors say Baldwin fled the scene in a company AAA vehicle. The company reported that he had been dispatched to a service call on Post Road at the time of the robbery.

Baldwin faces a prison sentence of between 20 and 40 years. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Sept. 15.
