17h agoStudents and neighbors are voicing concerns about a new plan to relocate the Bridgeport Military Academy to the new Bassick High School that has not been built yet.
Students News 12 spoke with say they want more transparency from the city and school on this plan.
Currently, the plan for Bridgeport Military Academy and Bassick is approved but the public has many questions.
Officials plan to build the new Bassick High School on Broad Street near Seaside Park on the south end. Students from Bridgeport Military Academy say they are worried about merging the two groups of students, especially because they have specific study pathways as first responders.
Neighbors say they are worried about the environmental impacts of where the new school is located.
The new school is expected to open by 2025.
