A multifamily home in Bridgeport
was burglarized after laying vacant due to
a fire Sunday that displaced dozens,
police say.
Police were investigating the home
on Olive Street Thursday thefts that residents say occurred after the house was
boarded up following the fire.
Officials say a pair of seniors,
along with their dog and another family member, are living out of their car now
because of the fire.
"Victimized
twice! It's insane! I feel like we're already grieving and now it's like,
they're making it worse," says Jenny Tran.
Before the fire
struck, News 12 reported on a lack of heating and hot water on Olive Street in
December.
A state
investigation was prompted. Residents say they want to know if the earlier
crisis played a role in the fire that led to the burglary.
