Bridgeport officials say this year had the lowest murder rate in more than a decade.
Bridgeport Police Chief Joe Gaudett says there were 12 murders in 2014.
Of those, only three remain unsolved.
Gaudett says the decrease in the number of murders is the result of an increase in trust between the community and the officers who patrol it. Gun buybacks have also been a big help.
Police say they'll be working with the State's Attorney's Office and local social service agencies in 2015 to reduce domestic violence, which they say is a leading cause of murder.
