First Serve Bridgeport recently celebrated eight years of serving their community.
The program helps children through academic tutoring, mentoring, college support and tennis.
The nonprofit says their services help expose children to “educational enrichment and life-skills that will serve them now and in the future.”
"It's very important for us to build a relationship with the kids starting in 3rd or 4th grade and give them that support year-round after school, on weekends and during the summer to stop the summer slide,” said co-founder David Reiss.
The nonprofit says support from Greens Farms Academy, the U.S.T.A. and other groups makes the program possible.
