A local nonprofit is working to make the holidays bright for a few children.
The Bridgeport nonprofit group Bike Port Co-op is working to make Bridgeport more bike-friendly, make residents healthier, and the city more sustainable. To get its message out to the public, the group decided to start with the city's youth.
Organizers say the group, which formed in May, is giving bicycles to children. So far, it's given away a dozen bikes.
BikePort is also raffling off a custom-made bicycle, with all proceeds going to providing helmets, locks and bicycle parts for kids.
