COVID-19 at-home testing kits were ready to be distributed beginning Thursday until shipping delays put a snag in the plans.
Gov. Ned Lamont says the tests will now be delayed due to the bottleneck on the West Coast.  At least 3 million at-home test kits were to be distributed throughout the state.
Residents flocked to test sites around the city on Wednesday. The North branch library on Madison Avenue saw lines of cars backed up into the street. City officials say it underscores the need for at-home testing kits.
City officials say more than 15,000 home testing kits were to be delivered to partnering agencies such as Optimus and Southwest, which were then to make them available to "the most vulnerable members of the community."
