Bridgeport police arrested a man Thursday accused of a violent home invasion and rape two years ago.
Willian Campos, 34, allegedly broke into the victim's home on March 30, 2015. Police say he crawled into her bed and attacked her.
A lengthy investigation by the city's Violent Crime Fugitive Task Force ended in his arrest.
"We are very happy and pleased that we were able to take this individual off the streets today," said Capt. Roderick Porter, of the Bridgeport Police Department.
Campos is being held on $250,000 bond and is expected to stand before a judge Friday.
He is facing charges of first-degree sexual assault and first-degree burglary.
