Police say they have identified the killer behind Bridgeport’s seventh murder victim this year, and plan to arrest him next week.
Authorities say Max Antoine, 33, was fatally shot six months ago as he left a restaurant on Broad Street. They say he was an innocent bystander who was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Police Chief AJ Perez says he submitted an arrest warrant to the state’s attorney's office Friday morning, effectively announcing that investigators will arrest the alleged killer as soon as that warrant is signed.
“We have not forgotten,” says Perez, in a message to Antoine’s family. “We're working on it…we feel that we want to bring justice to the family and to the memory of Max Antoine.”
The victim’s family says they are hoping people will join them in filling McLevy Green Saturday at 9 a.m. to call upon State Attorney John Smriga to sign the arrest warrant for alleged killer.
