Bridgeport police identify murder suspect, ask for public’s help in locating him

Andre Johnson, 27, is wanted for the death of 25-year-old Aaron Hunt. Police say Johnson should be considered armed and dangerous.

Police in Bridgeport have identified a suspect in last week's fatal shooting on Denver Avenue and are asking for the public's help in locating him.
Andre Johnson, 27, is wanted for the murder of 25-year-old Aaron Hunt. Police say Johnson should be considered armed and dangerous. Johnson is described as 5 feet 9 inches and 150 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. Police say he's known to frequent the west side of Bridgeport. Police say Johnson fatally shot Hunt on Denver Avenue around 8 p.m. on April 26. Police responded to the neighborhood following a shotspotter alert. Police say they canvassed the area, conducted interviews and collected evidence.
Police say a resident discovered Hunt's body in the 100 block of Denver Avenue around 12 hours later. Police say they found Hunt unresponsive between a house and car when they returned to the scene.
Police continue to investigate the motive behind the shooting. Anyone with information on Johnson's whereabouts is asked to call 911 then follow up with the case officer, Detective Brian Coyne at 203-581-5223.
