Bridgeport police seek public's help identifying person responsible for neglecting dog

Bridgeport Animal Control is asking for the public's help to identify the person responsible for fatal injuries to an abandoned dog.
"A female dog was found starved and burned in the area of Harbor Avenue and Shell Street Monday night," said Chief Animal Control Officer Jennifer Merenda, of Bridgeport Animal Control.
"It makes you angry and upset, and it does make you feel helpless as you try and solve these crimes, only to encounter dead end after dead end," Merenda said.
The dog's injuries were so severe, she had to be euthanized," Merenda said.
