The Bridgeport School District was saddened Thursday by the news that the principal of Garfield Elementary is in the hospital with the potentially deadly Legionnaires' disease.
Health officials report that Principal Howard Reed is being treated at Yale-New Haven Hospital for the disease, which is a form of pneumonia. Reed?s condition is unknown, but for now his students say they will wait for the return of their favorite principal.
Bridgeport city and health officials held an impromptu meeting to address the situation Thursday.
