Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim announced that the city has achieved a top credit rating from Fitch, a national credit organization.

The A+ rating will help the city secure lower interest rates when issuing bonds for infrastructure improvements, such as roads, sidewalks and schools

"This top rating means we can provide more services by spending less money and saving millions of dollars a year," said Ganim.

Fitch's evaluation recognizes Bridgeport's strong creditworthiness, benefiting residents and taxpayers.
