The Bridgeport Rescue Mission announced Wednesday it will soon be opening a multimillion-dollar facility designed to give people a fresh start in life.
The facility, a former nursing home on Park Avenue, will soon be home to the nonprofit's multimillion-dollar 60,000-square-foot 150-bed facility called The Bridgeport Rescue Mission's Community Care Center.
It has the feel of a high-end dormitory at one of the best universities in America.
CEO Frank Williams says the new facility is intended for both women and men and is set to open this fall, but "The Renewed Life Residential Program for Women and Children" will begin serving the community this summer.
The nonprofit thanks all the generous donors across Fairfield County who they say have made this miracle possible.
