Angry residents filled Bridgeport City Hall this evening to speak out against a tax increase proposed by Mayor Bill Finch.
Finch says the 2.7 mill tax increase would go toward funding public schools and pension obligations for retired city employees.
The tax increase would equate to roughly $400 a year per household.
Finch says that while taxes are never popular, there hasn't been an increase in the city for three years.
