Bridgeport residents frustrated with garbage pail placement
A group of Bridgeport residents from the South End are calling on their neighbors to not trash their community.
They complain that they’re tired of people leaving their city-issued garbage pails on the sidewalk after they’ve been emptied, blocking pedestrian access and creating a safety hazard, especially for children, seniors and disabled people.
They also say residents are using garbage pails to illegally hold parking spaces, which can cause an accident.
Bridgeport resident Jorge Cruz said, “What I'm asking of our people is to please open your eyes and understand that you are contributing to the ugliness of our neighborhood, and it needs to stop."
The residents say they want their neighbors to take more pride in their community and improve the quality of life in Bridgeport.
They plan to take their complaints to the next city council meeting.
