Residents in Bridgeport lined up Sunday morning at Seaside Park to receive free parking stickers ahead of the busy summer season.

City officials said the strong turnout reflects growing anticipation for Memorial Day weekend, when local parks officially reopen and seasonal activity ramps across the city.

The parking stickers will remain valid through May 28 and can be used at all city-managed park locations, including Beardsley Park and St. Mary's by the Sea.

Mayor Joe Ganim also noted that residents who were unable to attend the distribution event can still obtain a sticker by visiting the parking enforcement office starting Monday.
