Seniors and people with disabilities crowded the Eisenhower Senior Center in downtown Bridgeport Wednesday for a last-minute rush to apply for the Connecticut Renters’ Rebate Program.
The program offers eligible participants up to $700 in rent relief, providing critical financial support for those struggling with rising living costs.
Bridgeport Health Director Dr. Elizabeth Rodriguez highlighted the importance of the initiative, noting that more than 3,000 residents apply annually to help cover essential expenses, such as food and bills.
However, applicants had to act quickly, as the program’s deadline was 3 p.m. Wednesday.
