Bridgeport officials will begin repairing roads across the city today as part of their annual crack seal program.
The yearly program completes crack sealing on roads paved in the last five to seven years, officials say.
The crack and seal process extends the life of roadways by using a hot sealant to prevent water
intrusion in pavements.
Residents can resume parking and driving on streets that have been treated within a couple of hours after the sealant has been applied, officials say.
Officials are urging the public to follow detours that may be set up, and to adhere to no parking signs.
The crack and seal process takes place on weekdays and will be done over a period of approximately three weeks on previously identified streets that require of maintenance.
