Crews remain on the scene of a vacant factory fire in Bridgeport, but the fire itself has been contained.
The fire started last night at around 7 p.m. at a building on Railroad and Hancock streets. Firefighters managed to contain the fire today, but they say it is not out and may continue to smolder through the night and into tomorrow.
Authorities say the fire spread quickly due to the presence of an accelerant. They also say firefighters were unable to enter the building to put out the remaining flames because the structure might have collapsed.
Two firefighters were taken to the hospital for heat exhaustion.
Police say they've arrested the owner of the factory, Garfield Spencer, for allegedly interfering with officers when the fire broke out. They say his arrest has nothing to do with the cause of the fire.To watch extended footage from the warehouse fire, click on iO Extra on Channel 612.
