Bridgeport city workers cleaned up a home Thursday after neighbors complained it was neglected and infested with raccoons.
Neighbors say that there have been health and safety concerns over the state of the yard and animals at 196 Deforest Ave.
Department of Public Facilities employees say they came to the house after receiving an emergency order from the city.
Residents blame a lack of maintenance to the home as the cause of the problem.
City officials say the homeowner had previously faced fines after they served him with a blight notice. Officials also tell News 12 that they didn't know about the raccoons until today.
They say that they will return to the house on Friday morning to assess the area and see what is attracting the animals to the property.
