Bridgeport's Beardsley Zoo just got a $10,000 cash infusion.
The Petit Family Foundation gave the money to the zoo's Conservation Discovery Corps, which allows high school students to work side-by-side with field biologists and study the role of zoos in conservation.
The Petit foundation's goal is to foster the education of young people, especially women in the sciences.
