Cuts to Bridgeport's educational budget could impact a popular after-school program.
The Board of Education's Finance Committee met at City Hall Tuesday to discuss possibly cutting the Lighthouse Program, which provides after-school activities, tutoring and sports.
Members of the Finance Committee say they have no choice but to make the cuts to close a budget gap. The schools that could be affected include Barnum, Waltersville and Thomas Hooker.
Board members say they couldn't come to a definite decision Tuesday because neither the interim school superintendent or the chief financial officer showed up for the meeting.
