Brien McMahon High School dismissed early following police investigation

Police say a report of a threatening nature was made toward students and staff.

Brien McMahon High School in Norwalk was placed under an extended hold Thursday as a result of a police investigation.
Police say a report of a threatening nature was made toward students and staff.
As a precaution, additional school resource officers were sent to the school to increase security and check the building.
Police are investigating the source of the threat.
Out of an abundance of caution, the student body was dismissed at 12:30 p.m.
All after-school activities at Brien McMahon and the Center for Global Studies, including the high school showcase event, were canceled for Thursday.
All other schools in the district operated as normal Thursday.
