A Bronx mother says she has to carry her 9-year-old daughter with disabilities down steep steps because her building doesn't have a ramp.
Mailene Otero Negron says she has to carry her daughter down 16 steps just to get in and out of her building, located at 540 Concord Ave.
Her daughter is a wheelchair user with numerous disabilities.
The mother of three says it's a daily struggle just to leave her house to take her daughter to school or to the doctor.
She says she has informed her landlord about the issue, but that the landlord has done nothing in the three years she has lived in the building.
Negron says that her family needs a more suitable place to live and has applied for public housing, but has been wait-listed for the last four years.
