An all-girls robotics team from the Bronx High School of Science has taken part in competitions and managed to come out neck and neck with others while trying to be an inspiration for young girls.
Calling themselves the "Iron Maidens," they're just average high school girls with interests in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
The Iron Maidens were given only six weeks to complete their robot. They brought it to two competitions this past year and received their highest rankings in years.
The groups say the best part is teamwork, with more than 40 girls working together and learning in the process.
Two members of the team - seniors Jenny Li and Violet Killy - are heading to MIT in the fall to pursue their passion.
