Businesses are gearing up for a rush of customers trying to keep warm as the first arctic blast of the season in southwestern Connecticut is on its way.
At REI in Norwalk, employees says they were hoping for colder temperatures before the holiday season, and not just because of outdoor sports like skiing, snowboarding and hiking.
They say items like thermal socks have sat on shelves since the start of winter season, which they say is unheard of.
Monday and Tuesday will see high temperatures in the low-30s, with overnight lows expected in the 20s and teens.
