Two people were taken to the hospital after a car slammed into a Stratford bakery Thursday.

The driver told police she had mechanical failure before she crashed into Freihofers Bakery Outlet on Barnum Avenue. Police say the driver was on her way to work next door to the bakery with an elderly passenger.

The driver was treated and released from the hospital. The condition of her passenger is still unclear but police say she did not suffer life-threatening injuries.
