Fairfield police say a driver is lucky to be alive after crashing a car into a tree.
It happened around 2 a.m. on Burr Street.
Officers say it appears the driver fell asleep at the wheel before slamming into the tree.
The front of the car was badly damaged.
The driver was taken to Saint Vincent's Medical Center for treatment.
