A carnival was held at Kolbe Cathedral High School on Saturday in honor of a Bridgeport family's late 6-year-old daughter, Leah Rondon.
Rondon, the daughter of Kolbe Cathedral High School Principal Henry Rondon, was struck and killed by a car in August while riding a wagon at a friend's house.
"You never imagine that something like this is going to happen to you," says Rondon.
They wanted to memorialize Leah with the types of activities she liked to do, and give back to the community that's supported them through an extremely difficult time.
"You really appreciate that everyone has continue to be involved, and we just really would like to do something to give back," says Rondon.
They say the proceeds from the carnival will go toward the newly formed Leah Rondon Scholarship Fund for a graduating Kolbe senior going on to college.
They hope to make Leah's Birthday Bash an annual event.
