The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says water aerobics can improve mental health in seniors and help with joint and muscle pain.
Kathie Harris, who lives at the Watermark in Bridgeport, does aquatic therapy twice a week. She has arthritis and says getting in the pool for an hour has helped her tremendously.
Her instructor says water aerobics is good for seniors because there is no weight on their joints and they are not afraid to fall in the water.
