Dozens of people came out to the Fairfield Town Hall Green to celebrate Independence Day.
This is the 126th year that the event has been put on by Fairfield's United Veterans Organization. It is also co-hosted by a chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Attendees told News 12 that the event makes them honor the true meaning of the Fourth of July, especially when they read the Declaration of Independence.
