Stamford police say charges are possible against the driver who hit a husband and wife with an SUV while they were standing by their food truck.
The incident happened Saturday morning near the intersection of Hope and Hyde streets.
Police say a woman and her husband were standing by their food truck, which had broken down.
Officers say the driver of an SUV coming from the opposite direction crossed the center line and hit the couple.
The wife, 34-year-old Angela Lopez, was severely injured at the scene and later died at Stamford Hospital during surgery.
News 12 is told that Lopez's husband, Rafael Escobar, was hurt as well, but not seriously.
