(AP) - A Connecticut woman mauled and blindedby a chimpanzee is seeking to sue the state for $150 million.

Attorneys for Charla Nash's family filed a notice Wednesday withthe state's Office of Claims Commissioner asking for permission tosue the state.

The 200-pound chimpanzee named Travis went berserk in Februarywhen his owner, Sandra Herold, asked Nash to help lure him backinto her house in Stamford. The animal ripped off Nash's hands,nose, lips and eyelids, and she remains in stable condition at theCleveland Clinic.

A Department of Environmental Protection biologist warned stateofficials before the attack that Travis could seriously hurtsomeone if he felt threatened, noting that he was large and strong.

A telephone message was left Wednesday with a DEP spokesman.

Nash's family filed a $50 million lawsuit against Herold.
