With the fall Chowder Festival, the #1 culinary competition in New England, faces a chance of being canceled - the organizer is putting extra emphasis on other events.
A curbside clambake was held in Westport Sunday, with a one-and-a-half pound lobster, clams, mussels, sausage, corn on the cob, potatoes and beer.
Jim Keenan, the CEO of Chowdafest, says clambakes have been around for years, but no one paid attention to them.
He says now, hundreds of people have placed orders.
Chowdafest organizers say they have something up their sleeves in the coming months.
