The Clinton Global Initiative took place in Midtown Manhattan on Thursday, focusing on issues that hit close to home for residents in the tri-state.

The summit was timed once again with the latest session of the UN General Assembly.

The two-day event was led by Chappaqua's own Bill and Hillary Clinton, who put the topic of polarization front and center.

Former President Bill Clinton asked leaders from government, business, activism and the arts to work together in real time and leave with concrete plans in hand. He called it a necessary reset.

News 12's Senior Reporter Tara Rosenblum was at the event for the second year and noted one panel that really stood out by tackling political and cultural divisions head-on.

"Beyond the Narrative" brought together high-profile voices using storytelling to shift public perception. Chelsea Clinton, actor Matt Damon and ballerina Misty Copeland all shared the stage.

The summit also drew the presidents of Barbados and Kosovo, along with top executives from Fortune 500 companies.

The focus wasn't just on global problems - it also zeroed in on issues in the tri-state, including rising housing costs, access to health care, gun violence, the youth mental health crisis and how communities recover after disasters.
