It was
a close call with a happy ending for one pup and her owners.
Last
month, an engineer on the Danbury Branch of the Metro-North spotted a husky on
the tracks and quickly pulled the brake and sounded the horn. She then
disappeared under the tracks.
Once
the train was stopped, crews found the dog crouched under the train unharmed.
They
were able to coax her out and found a collar and ID tag, alerting the owners
who lived nearby.
MTA
officials say once the passengers found out why the train had been stopped for
half an hour, they didn't mind the delay.
