Here’s what you need to know:
  • A FLOOD WATCH is in effect 2 p.m. through 12 a.m. Scattered showers and storms will bring heavy rain to the city through this evening. Rainfall rates of 2+ inches per hour are possible with any thunderstorms - 0.5-1.5" of rainfall possible with locally higher amounts.
  • It's warm, cloudy and humid with areas of patchy drizzle this morning. Temperatures are in the mid-70s.
  • Clouds clear out during the mid-morning/early afternoon.
  • Today will be warm and sticky under a partly sunny sky. Scattered showers and gusty thunderstorms move in after 4 p.m. through 11 p.m. Highs will be in the mid-80s.
  • Severe weather is not expected, but a few downpours can bring ponding/flash flooding on streets and sidewalks.
  • Tomorrow will be another very warm and humid day with a chance of afternoon storms. Spotty storms arrive during the morning and afternoon. Highs will be in the mid- to upper-80s.
  • The Florida-like weather pattern continues into this week with the potential of our second heat wave of the summer season. There’s a potential for extreme heat for an extended period of time as temperatures can reach near 90 degrees Wednesday through Friday. Heat indices can reach the upper-90sto near 100 degrees.
  • The stifling heat breaks this weekend but stays muggy with a chance of rain. Highs will be in the 80s.
