Connecticut students can now find homework help online thanks to a new website with local roots.
College student Juliana Beal says some middle and high school students are struggling with distance learning and Peerable Tutors is here to help.
"We provide homework help in a very timely manner while ensuring that academic integrity is upheld," said Beal.
The free service, which launched Friday, lets students submit essays or math problems they're having trouble with, to get a reply and help the same day, provided they can show they've put in the effort.
Beal says she was inspired by a recent class she took in education.
"What I learned is that I really need to check my privilege, and I really need to understand areas and perspectives that I've never seen before," said Beal.
She says for poorer communities, the education gap is only growing during the pandemic.
Beal says there are plans to offer more subjects and one-on-one video sessions.
